Very good film and great acting by Ian McKellen as James Whale. Of course one could argue about McKellen playing an elderly gay man on film, especially since he himself is an elderly gay man. What did he do, follow himself around for a year? Still, this was an outstanding film with very good acting by all.
The ending was very good. One of the few films that Brendan Fraser actually did well in and was not an embarrassment. Lynn Redgrave was great as the maid. One of the best films of 1998.
