Review of Gods and Generals (2003) by Janet F — 17 Jul 2009
A movie for those whom historical accuracy holds more weight than entertainment, altough I found Gods and Generals both interesting and enjoyable. Portrays the Civil War as the complex result of a variety of issues, rather than a blood bath over the single issue of slavery.
Heavily focused on Stonewall Jackson above others, even Robert E. Lee, although the reprisal of Jeff Daniels' Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain is a treat.
