This movie has been maligned quite unfairly. It was MADE by HISTORY BUFFS, for HISTORY BUFFS!! It was made by thousands of reenactors for the purpose of showing the War Between the States in a way that was accurate, and not politically correct.
The battle scenes are accurate, the speeches are historically accurate, and the grammar and dress was accurate for the time period. If people want to criticize, then they need to check their facts, or shut up! As for Hollywood, well, any time this period of history is shown were Southerners aren't beating or raping slaves is not acceptable to the powers that be! This movie is great!
