Review of God Told Me To (1976) by Jacob F — 06 Mar 2008
Larry Cohen may be an acquired taste but this is his best and most essential film. At a time when mainstream horror was reacting against progressivism and revolutions Cohen, like Romero, sought to question the established American institutions.
Here Cohen interrogates religion, and while he comes to his own conclusions, he still allows a place for individual faith.
