Review of God Grew Tired of Us (2006) by Ed K — 05 Nov 2009
Although this documentary, produced by National Geographic, came out three years ago, I just saw it. I am recommending it to any of my friends and family who have not seen it. It tells the story, extended over about a 10 year period, of the Lost Boys, the boys from Sudan orphaned by the civil war in that country.
It tells of the 27,000 young boys who set off across the desert, the 12,000 who survived, and the hundred or so who made it to the United States. Three of these latter ones are the main focus of this movie.
Their stories are both heart-breaking and inspirational.
