Review of God Bless America (2012) by John P — 20 Aug 2012
It states what we all feel about the sutpification of the United States through media glamorizing, and, ultimately, taking advantage of the ignorance many Americans are guilty of. Two Months ago this would have been funnier to me, but after the rash of shootings, Aurora and so on, it is hard to find humor in someone going on a killing spree.
I do not take the movie literally, I am not one of those ignorants, I get the point of the movie. I know Bobcat Goldthwait isn't literally justifying violence, it is, if anything, a fiction played out on the screen.
However, in these days in times, it is just a vision that hits to close to reality to laugh at. I believe Goldthwait to be a great filmmaker, and I believe this to be a very good movie with decent performance by the leads, and I look forward to Bobcat's next movie.
I just wish I saw this 2 months ago, might have enjoyed it more,...
