Review of God Bless America (2012) by Russell C — 06 Oct 2014

God Bless Bobcat for directing a movie about the unscrupulous direction our soiled and spoiled American culture is heading. Unfortunately the characters come off merely as animated vessels or mouth pieces for Bobcat's witty stand up style humor and sociopolitically driven message.

This "talking through his characters to the audience" angle had a backfiring effect on me.. making his characters seem just as fake and discardable as the marks they hunt throughout the movie.

But the point is well taken, even if the screen dialogue would have been more fitting in the context of a stage monologue.
