Review of Goat (2016) by Rick B — 23 Jan 2016
I just saw the first screening of this at Sundance. While the intense hazing scenes were squirm-inducing, they achieved their desired effect. The acting was pretty good--Nick Jonas actually did a respectable job.
But at the end, nothing felt resolved or really dealt with at all. However, perhaps that was also intentional--reflecting how males deal with issues where peer pressure is in play and "manliness" is questioned.
Men don't deal with these issues; real men buck up and don't complain.
