Review of Goal II: Living the Dream (2007) by Sadik M — 01 Jul 2008
As true stories go this is up there with Schindlers List, The Great Escape and Finding Nemo. Goal 2 continues the story of Santiago Numez and his epic journey from the streets of Mexico to playing for Newcastle United, as we all remember very well. in this second installment we chart Numez's switch from the Premiership to La Liga and his coming to terms with playing for the biggest club in the world Real Madrid and all of it's glitzy showbiz attributes that are associated with the honour. all of this set against the tribulations of his "down to earth" girlfriend Roz Harrison, a hospital nurse, who struggles to come to terms with her new found lifestyle, her boyfriend may drive a Lambourghini but she still does her own decorating and works shifts at Newcastle Roayl Infirmary, watch and learn Victoria Beckham.
It really is a fascinating insight into one of the true footballing legends of our time all studs beared, with some remarkable supporting cameo roles such as David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Roberto Carlos and Gavin Harris this is one film not to be missed.
