Review of Goal II: Living the Dream (2007) by Raymond C — 19 Aug 2008
Slightly better than the first one. Kuno Becker is once again overacting and is way too intense, but Anna Friel and Alessandro Nivola once again make up for it. Of course I like that it's set against the backdrop of Real Madrid and the Bernabeu, and features actual Madrid players (there's a scene with Iker Casillas that pretty much makes the movie for me).
I think having his mother move to Madrid was way too convenient, and Nick Cannon's role was completely unnecessary. The plot's overused and predictable, but it ends in a way that sets up the third one well.
