Review of Go Now (1995) by Kevin D — 22 Feb 2009
Formulaic, but in Winterbottom's capable hands even formula can make for good material. The sexual frankness of the film is the closest thing the director has to a signature and is always welcome in my book. Carlyle gives a stunning performance...and holy shit his best mate is the lead from "Jekyll". I just put two and two together there.
The ending is too pat, sure. But until then the dynamic between the leads is so painfully real, and it's hard to begrudge them that respite.
