Pre-WWII political and social conspiracy are the subject of this historically fascinating but merely gently menacing thriller from the darling of the BBC drama unit Stephen Poliakoff, and whilst a typically dreamlike atmosphere seeps out from the screen, the exposition heavy plot is drawn out too far.
