Review of Glorifying the American Girl (1929) by Alyssa N — 29 Nov 2007
This 1920's musical is certainly interesting, but at times I felt like I was watching an extended advertisement for the Ziegfeld Follies. Still, if you like burlesque, vaudeville, or musicals, it wouldn't hurt to watch this out of sheer curiosity.
I also appreciated seeing a film with a bittersweet ending that doesn't follow all the Hollywood cliches, despite the fact that it was made before those cliches even existed.
