Review of Gloria (2013) by Martin G — 17 Feb 2014

Once you get past how refreshingly and realistically this film portrays the middle-aged, you can't help but realize that the great performances are really the only things that elevate the rest of the experience.

It's actually tedious, slow, and dull, but not in an understated or contextually appropriate manner. It's kind of like three quarters of the second act doesn't even work. The ending is very cute, but I was still surprisingly bored throughout, and this is coming from someone that absolutely loved Somewhere.

5.9/10, underwhelming, one thumb down, below average, etc.
