Review of Gleason (2016) by Annee M — 14 Aug 2016
This is by far the most powerful, authentic, raw, beautiful moving and difficult movies/documentaries I have ever seen in my 61 years and I have seen hundreds if not thousands of movies. I walked out different and I am still not sure of the affect it has had on me. There is no way you can remain the same after watching this highly emotional inspirational movie and while it is a documentary it is so well edited that you forget and hope or wish it was only a movie but the power lies in the truth of Steve Gleeson's reality and how he chooses to face his situation and help many people in the process.
I suggest taking someone close with you to see it. I went alone and thankfully ran into 2 women I knew and just hugged them because the pain in me seemed so real and the gratitude for my health and life filled me with a heart wanting to explode and say Thank Thank you for this amazing spirit we all have inside of us to face the impossible and to be there for each other despite the most challenging of circumstances.
