After years of being spoon fed production-line superhero movies, this was a welcome return to a more realistic style of superhero movie. In fact, I would barely even call it that.

I am sure that the critics will be confused at the fact that nobody is flying around in a cape, throwing magical lightning hammers with their half ripped off shirts and exposed oiled bodies. There is no typical Hollywood, easily digestible 'Candy' writing in this movie. The fights are gritty, the characters are human, the story is honest.

Going into this movie with expectations on what a superhero movie 'should be' will see you quickly running back to the counter for Aquaman tickets to sit with the critics.

Watching Unbreakable and Split beforehand is an absolute MUST! If you decide to give this a miss, you will find yourself being very quickly confused.

Conclusion... This movie was a unique experience that left myself and my partner discussing the events on our way home. It was awesome to see the characters and actors from the previous films again, and the conclusion will certainly leave you thinking.
