Review of Glass (2019) by Connor U — 18 Jan 2019
This movie is so bad that it's funny at times. The script is complete trash and it seems like Shyamalan told the actors to just stare into the camera for it's entirety while ominous non-sensical dialogue was spoken over it. Also, the entire movie is basically shot at one location: the hospital. Now while this doesn't seem like an issue since there are many great films that have a very minimal set design or location, this setting is just bland and boring. It's like Shyamalan said, "Hey let's paint this room pink just to change it up a bit. There's no purpose for it, but hey I like pink and I'm a dumbass." I don't think any of the characters/actors are good in this movie either, and that's mostly due to the script I believe. The "twist" in this movie is horrible since there is nothing leading us to figure out what will happen.
I think this movie is really really bad but also really enjoyable like many of M. Night Shyamalan's other movies (The Happening for example). The dialogue and acting is laughably bad. It's a movie about nothing. I didn't think about it after I saw it and I didn't care for it while I watched it.
