Review of Glass (2019) by Ricky D — 22 Jan 2019
"Glass" is a little better than its Tomatometer rating says it is. There are many positive things to say about the movie. The first is the most obvious: the cast. Samuel Jackson and James McAvoy are both excellent as they were in their previous collaborations with M.
Night Shyamalan. The supporting cast also does an equally excellent job. For me the problem with this movie is the climax of the story itself. I just found it too hard to believe that Elijah Price aka Mr.
Glass (Jackson) could easily pull of his escape from the mental health facility. Also the whole thing that water is fatal to David Dunn (Willis) sounds very familiar. I wonder why. Oh! I remember! From the movie "Signs".
I can't seem to remember who directed that movie. The twist ending worked well here, but that is also another problem. How long can M. Night Shyamalan keep it up? The whole twist ending thing can only go so far.
Pretty soon it is going to wear itself out. That aside I think "Glass" while not perfect, is better than critics say it is and is worth your time.
