Most of the movie is pretty decent. The dialogue is not subtle, kinda cheesy, and pretty over the top, but the fight scenes are pretty good. However, the ending is extremely melodramatic and really cheesy, and if it weren't for Crowe being a good actor, this movie would have been pretty bad.
Overall, it ran too long, was too cheesy and overdramatic, and is definitely not one of Ridley Scott's best movies. It definitely would have not won Best Picture if it weren't for 2000 being a weak year for movies in general (Traffic should have won).
