Review of Gladiator (2000) by Tigertown84 — 01 Aug 2015
Just had the privilege of watching this movie on a big screen with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and a full choir doing the music at Ravinia in Highland Park, IL. Amazing experience.
While I have always loved the movie before, after what I saw and heard tonight, I'll fight anyone in the arena that disparages it.
Brilliant musical score, top notch acting by the entire cast(Phoenix was robbed of a well deserved best supporting actor award that year), and historical accuracy be damned, a great story. You want everything in a movie to be completely true to 'what really happened' you can throw out 99.9% of movies. WHY does it matter????
Underrated by critics, but appreciated by the people that matter...we plebian movie goers.
