Review of Gladiator (2000) by Shay M — 19 Mar 2013
Script is pretty bad. Very simple storyline, but acting is amazing. Russell Crowe shines in his heroic role and makes this super-cheese greased script believable. Joaquin Phoenix and Connie Nielsen do their parts also.
Cinematography is brave and puts lots of modern techniques for this ancient setting and most importantly it works perfectly. Hans Zimmer did fantastic job to bring up the emotion and sadness through music.
It is a guy movie. The opening war sequence is probably the highlight of this movie. Good movie to watch at night.
