Review of Girls Trip (2017) by Jakob S — 03 Dec 2018
Ever want to go on a Girls Trip?
Girls Trip was a chance for the Flossie Possie to motivate you to get with your girlfriends and take a wild vacation. When Ryan, published author, gets a chance to speak at Essence Festival, she makes it a pleasure trip as well. She reunites her girl group to take down to New Orleans. Ryan, Dina, Lisa, and Sasha are lifelong friends who have not seen each other in a few years. This movie will keep you on your toes with one thing leading to another. This movie shows us normal women a sense of empowerment, showing us we do have the power to changes things for ourselves. The main characters are played by some powerful and inspiring women. Queen Latifah plays Sasha, Tiffany Haddish plays Dina, Jada Pinkett Smith plays Lisa, and Regina Hall plays Ryan. Queen Latifah is a huge spokesperson for the bigger girls who don't meet the tiny size standard place by society. Tiffany Haddish is a true motivation to be who you are no matter what others think of you. Regina Hall is not only an award winning actress, she also has a degree for journalism. Jada Pinkett Smith has a Facebook series Red Table Talk where they talk about the differences throughout three different generations. It's the sisterhood that some of us have missed out on or maybe need to get back to.
