Review of Girlfriend Experience (2008) by Cory N — 22 Jun 2012
Just taking into account the sense of realism and craftmanship along with the acting then I would give it close to 100%. It was really well made and it kept me interested, so good directing.
But the story is kind of a downer... I hated the main character. But honestly, it seems like a very accurate portrayal of what a high-class call girl is. So I liked the take on realism throughout this movie.
You got the young couple, trying to make their way in today's world. Both blinded by their own selfish desires and lack of maturity, trying to live the good life. Nice expensive apartment, fine dining, comfortable lifestyle. But a very empty and vain type of lifestyle. So they make compromises inorder to have it.
Then you have the clients who are not much different, they talk too much, need someone who will listen. What every client needs I guess. All have their issues but as long as they have a high priced call girl to vent too every once in a while than I guess it makes it okay. Then when it's done and they pay than they get to go home to their wife and kids and play the role.
So what I liked about this movie was the director got it right. Everything comes with a price, so don't be a fool like everybody else. You want the lifestyle and you don't won't want to spend years slaving to get it, sell your body. Then act all professional with a sprinkle of intelligence and make sure you manage your finances really well and it will all work out in the end!
