Review of Girlfight (2000) by Michelle C — 17 Feb 2008
The movie itself could have been tighter, but overall, I liked it. Especially because Michelle Rodriguez is hot. I'm glad the character is Latina in the movie, even though funders wanted the character to be a middle-class white girl. The movie is well-done and fun to watch.
It's annoying how they still feel the need to put her in girlier colors, such as clothes that are pink or purple. Also, why can't a girl ever be in a movie without a romance plot line? It's like female characters exist only with reference to guys rather than being able to stand on their own.
