The tension between Griet and Johannes was gripping. The process of the painting of the masterpiece and all that was at stake was interesting but over all, the movie wasn't very appealing. There were moments where I yawned and wondered why I was watching this movie.
Scarlet was ravishing though. Colin Firth was hauntingly sexy.
