The story of J. Vermeer's maid who appears in his paiting with the same name. Lovely movie, reasonably good performances, crisp story line, ofcourse the most brilliant part is the lighting that makes most scenes inside Vermeer's home and around the canals of Holland, look like oil paintings from that era.
A visual treat for someone interested in paintings and movies ... a superb experiment.
