Review of Girl with a Pearl Earring (2003) by Terence S — 31 Jan 2009

I am one who likes drama pieces and especially the kind with the exploration of tensions. However, this one really tested my patience. It could be done so much better. To start with, they need to change the actors, Colin Firth and Scarlett Johannson were not bad, actually okay performances but for a movie like this to work, they were not the sort of actors to be relying on.

The story in itself is not complicated and it really would require actors with more depth to make it work. I personally do not think the director did a great job either. But that's my opinion of course.
