Beautifully directed telling of the imagined story behind the painting of Vermeerâ(TM)s â~Girl With A Pearl Earringâ(TM) telling the story of a love affair that is never consummated, but conducted through glances, economical use of dialogue and majestic brushwork.
Startlingly good acting from Colin Firth and Scarlett Johansson conveying so much by saying so little. Wonderful.
