Review of Girl, Interrupted (1999) by Trevor H — 13 May 2009
Winona Ryder, Angelina Jolie and Brittany Murphy are at their best in this true account of Susanna Kaysen's stay in a mental hospital in 1960s USA. The film uses flashback to both show Kaysen's mental state, and keep the viewer on their toes.
The destructive nature of the relationships are fascinating and beautifully portrayed - a film for all with predominantly a female cast is quite a rarity. A deserved Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Jolie.
