Review of Girl, Interrupted (1999) by Anna T — 22 May 2009
Winoma Ryder and Angelina Jolie. Enough said. (not really...) This film really sets itself apart by being so... realistic. It wasn't a feel-good kind of film, which I tend to like. It was the cold, hard facts - a woman's stay in a mental institution and the type of people she would encounter.
So very memorable is Whoopi Goldberg's biting remark to Ryder mid-way through the movie... she was a girl driving herself crazy... which really struck me...
