Review of Girl, Interrupted (1999) by David L — 11 Oct 2009
This is one of my favorite movies and one of the best bio pics ever made. I first saw this movie and fifth grade and before I experienced all the shit that happened in the years to come, I connected to this movie.
There was something about the character and the problems that I understood. Not fully at the time but watching it now, I do. I can relate to how Suzanne felt trapped and misunderstood knowing she wasnâ??t completely crazy but needed to get better.
All the performances in this movie are incredible. I always felt bad for Winona Ryder since she starred in the movie yet Angelina Jolie got all the press and awards. Donâ??t get me wrong, Jolie did an amazing job but Iâ??ve always been more of a Ryder fan.
Also this movie was filmed in my home town in places where I have been and walked through which makes it even closer to me. I recommend this movie to everyone and that you should read the book too because there were many changes added when it was adapted into a movie but it is still just as good.
