Review of Girl, Interrupted (1999) by Celine L — 28 Jul 2010
Girl, Interrupted is about how a girl is sent to a mental institution and her road to rehabilitation. This movie feels much longer than it is and its ending is corny and lame. This film has many twists and turn that I don't care about and is trying to be like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest but never even scratches the surface of the greatness of that film.
Their is only one reason why I did not give this film a rotten rating: Angelina Jolie. She gives her greatest performance of her career so far and very much deserves her Oscar. While Winona Ryder could not keep up with Jolie's acting and was a bore to watch.
The only reason to see this film is Jolie and this film does not compare to other depressing films with strong female leads such as Monster's Ball or Monster.
