Review of Girl, Interrupted (1999) by Pete L — 29 Aug 2010
Great portrayal of the 60s. It has an all star cast consisting of Angelina Jolie, Winona Ryder, Brittany Murphy(may she rest in peace), Jared Leto, Clea DuVall, Whoopi Goldberg, Vanessa Redgrave, and Jeffrey Tambor.
All of which do a fantastic job. The characters are great and you feel like you know them by the end even though some of them are just plain bizarre at times. Jolie's character is haunting and she played that character perfectly and she really deserved the Oscar she won for it.
This movie has some philosophical meaing to it. I really identified with the main character. She wants to be a writer just as I do and she doesn't know if she's crazy or not. Now do I think I'm crazy? No, but the thought has crossed my mind a few times but hasn't everyone had that thought at least once.
Dont say you haven't. Be honest with yourself.
