Review of Girl, Interrupted (1999) by Eytan D — 03 Jul 2013
A "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" for women is what I like to call James Mangold's "Girl, Interrupted". Interesting, funny, and heartbreaking, the movie takes a deep look at female issues in the 60's.
The movie has some good performances. Ryder is not bad as Susanna, and Clea Duvall and Brittany Murphy are also very good. But the movie shines because of Angelina Jolie's Oscar-winning portrayal of the damaged, dark Lisa.
She's the real reason to check this movie out.
