Review of Girl, Interrupted (1999) by Angie B — 13 Jun 2009

This has always been one of my favorite movies but watching it this time was the first time I had seen it since going through my own stint of mental illness. It made me realize how well written the story is, it's obvious it was written by someone who actually went through it.

My only gripe with the movie is Winona Rider. Susanna is such a great character and had so much potential but she ends up being out-shined by everyone around her. Angelina Jolie is simply amazing and Brittany Murphy and Clea Duvall bring it like I always expect them to. But Winona Ryder just falls flat too often.
