Review of Girl, Interrupted (1999) by Kevin P — 23 Sep 2009
While the film has quite a few flaws, in the end it becomes a rather enjoyable (if that is the proper term for such a film) piece of cinema. The film features superb acting by Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie, with great supporting roles by Whoopi Goldberg and Brittany Murphy.
I also rather enjoyed the various transitions from flashback to present day. What the film lacks is better character development. While the development is quite good, I would have liked to known more about Jolie's character's past.
Some of the plot is quite confusing as well, but seems like nothing I can find out on a second watch. Overall, it is a great film, and if your fan of the featured actresses, you don't want to look this over.
