Review of Girl, Interrupted (1999) by Kristen C — 11 May 2012
Mental Illness is too often taken for granted, and their is far to much stigma surrounding it. This movie takes something the world may not want to see (as people often think mental illness is not a medical issue, because it isn't as visible as other illnesses), and puts it right out there for the world to see.
I think the nature of the movie, is why it wasn't received well by critics...perhaps they are a bit more close minded? Either way I believe it is a movie everyone should watch, to see great acting, and maybe gain a better understanding of the suffering of Mental Illness.
