Review of Ginger Snaps (2000) by Amy C — 03 May 2010
I have no idea why, but I have an irrational love of Ginger Snaps. I just think it is brilliant. Ginger Snaps just doesn't fall into the same clichés as most teen horror films, and I dare say it is quite intelligent. The plot makes use of the changes every teen goes through and integrates them with the changes of gradually becoming a werewolf. What is not to love?
Kris Lemche is excellent, despite his small amount of screentime. Emily Perkins also offers a solid performance. Although, some of the supporting cast do lend themselves to the stereotypes that come with the word teenager. The script is fast paced, with enough blood to remain credible.
Overall, a pleasant suprise in the genre and one not to be missed.
