Review of Ginger Snaps (2000) by Steve W — 18 Oct 2010
This is a Canadian film released in 2000 that I never heard of and nobody knew about to recommend it. That is because it got very little attention in the U.S. But 10 years later, I watched it and was very impressed.
This movie was made for under 5 million dollars. The werewolf plot is original and interesting. The story is well timed, not too short or too long, with no boring parts. The acting is good. The use of sound and lighting to create the mood is good.
Some of the closeups of the werewolf at the end are kind of poorly done but it doesn't detract from the film. All in all, I recommend you see this during the Halloween season. It is an underrated and overlooked gem.
