Review of Ginger Snaps (2000) by Jared P — 11 Jan 2013
Ginger Snaps draws on psychological parallels between the lycanthropic myth and feminine physiology to create a solid and disturbing film. Making viewers sexuality uncomfortable is one of the great underutilized tools of horror, and Ginger Snaps wields it like a scalpel in the hands of a skilled surgeon.
The limited budget detracts little thanks to the terse script. The performances are mostly solid. Overall, a horror film worth your time. Also check out the superior sequel, "Ginger Snaps 2".
