Review of Ginger & Rosa (2012) by Werner S — 23 Jul 2013
There is a lot to be said about a movie that seems like it could be dull by using an idea that we have seen before and completely shatter expectations. The story focuses on two girls who are best friends in 1962 London. The major event that keeps being referenced is the Cuban missile crisis and it works because this same feeling of worry that the character Ginger has is the feeling that people still feel today. The events of the movie also feel like a bomb has been dropped, as everything begins to unravel and that is where the movie succeeds.
The acting was very well done. The role of Ginger is Elle Fanning's best acting to date and Alice Englert did a great job as Rosa. Definitely worth the rent.
