Review of Gilles' Wife (2004) by Matt M — 19 Mar 2013
The wife of a brute Frenchman accuses her husband of cheating on her with her sister. The event leads to shocking developments, in the setting of a small and distant French village. The photography is quite impressive, and Fonteyne is able to build a nice intense atmosphere.
However, the plot is a little too restrictive and in the end the film ends up feeling cold and a little dull.
