Review of Gilda (1946) by Cherie T — 22 Aug 2007
It's actually a really entertaining film-noir. For such an old film, it's able to transcend time. The plot is immensely engaging, the acting brilliant and how about that twist?! Of course some of it seemed so cliched and cheesy.
But we all know that film cliches come about when lesser films replicate the same devices over and over again, so that must be kept in mind. If there ever was a femme fatale, Gilda would her name be.
