Review of Gilda (1946) by Joshua C — 17 Feb 2008
Film Noir means "black cinema" and there is no doubt that the characters in this movie have black hearts. It's a beautiful, extravagant world where your luck can change for the better in an instant.
..unless Rita Hayworth walks back into your life. Dark characters (characters who say "I hate you" when they mean "I love you"), betrayal, and greed make this movie as smooth as French silk pie.
Rita Hayworth is probably the prettiest star from Hollywood's Golden Age that I can think of. I found this movie to be well worth seeing.
