Review of Gigi (1958) by Jo J — 17 Oct 2011
Gigi was enjoyable to watch, up until the ending which frankly left me puzzled, it was most unclear as to the characters motivations.
Such a good job had been done in painting a picture of the characters and their lifestyles for the first hour but then the romance kicked in and it all felt off kilter, characters changed completely for no reason and it left me feeling quite detached.
Worth watching for the faux Paris mise-en-scene and costumes as well as Leslie Caron who plays a fantastic teenage Gigi but the potential of the story fell flat for me.
