Review of Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story (2009) by Melinda W — 27 Mar 2010
The film adaptation significantly tones down the highly evangelical Christian message of Dr Carson's autobiography, instead opting for a message of believing in oneself. The story is inspiration, but as a film it is somewhat predictable and linear.
While Cuba Gooding Junior is undoubtedly a strong actor, he does not resemble a young medical student and therefore was unconvincing in these scenes.
