Review of Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story (2009) by Juanka P — 26 May 2012
(Reviewed by Juanka) One of my favorites movies of 2009. Ben Carson (Cuba Gooding, Jr.) had a difficult start in his young life. At home his mother was the only provider for them. Both kids, Ben and his brother spend all day doing nothing, but watching tv. His mother decides to take the wheel and she will make some decisions to redirect the lives of her kids. They promise to her mother that they will read two books per week starting that day, in consequence they will start to improve their grades at school.
As Ben's grow up he starts to show a complicated and bad temper that he only learns to control with his faith in God, after a dramatic event involving his best friend.
He becams one of the best students and it helps him to go to Yale Univeristiy and he becomes a doctor.
Carson starts working in the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland. Before being a doctor he directs a surgery, risking his career, in order to save a man's life, from that moment he is known for his huge skills as doctor and his gifted hands for surgeries. FIVE STARTS, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
