Review of Gifted (2017) by Tami S — 21 Apr 2017
Normally, I find Chris Evans one dimensional in films, which utterly bore me. In this film, he surprised me with several acting skills and drew me into pitying and then cheering him as the uncle of a precocious, intelligent little girl.
As the story begins, the little girl and her uncle are on the precipice of change even bigger and more complex than either imagined. The casting of the little girl Mary was spot on. The little actress is endearing, sharp, and darn right cute; she steals each scene she's in.
..which makes Chris' acting tolerable. Though the story was predictable, I enjoyed it very much and would see it again.
