Review of Gifted (2017) by Margot B — 08 Apr 2017
While the plot isn't exactly innovative, it is something that's been missing from movie theaters for some time, crowded out by effects-driven action movies and treacle aimed at children. In addition, trite as the plot may be, it's given an extraordinary amount of depth by the sterling performances from the entire cast.
On the whole, Gifted is a sweet, not saccharine, movie about family, love, choices, and sacrifice.
