Review of Gift of the Magi (2010) by Dan H — 30 Nov 2015

My favorite Christmas stpry gets the small screen treatment. some of the architecture in the town feels weird, the script is passable at best, I don't recall the leads kissing until the final shot (Not a whole lot of chemistry there), and the film insists on going through the extremely tired trope of having the couple break up and get back together right at the end.

It's certainly not a perfect film, but up until the final 35 minutes it's actually fairly cute and charming. While this Magi certainly is not without it's faults, it's not a bad film, it's fairly faithful to the heart of the story while updating the source material a bit, and it makes for a cute Christmas diversion.
